How to Disable Automatic Updates on Windows 10

How to disable automatic updates on Windows 10, and save data/bundle:

1. Click the notifications icon on the Taskbar.
2. Click on All Settings
3. In the new window that opens, click on networks.
4. Make sure you are connected to the Internet via either wi-fi, mobile data or even ethernet connection.
5. Click on Advanced options. Now toggle the button that says Set as Metered Connection.
6. Done

Now windows will treat that particular connection as metered, meaning updates won’t be processed on that connection. Do that for any new Internet connection, unless it is an unlimited data bundle subscription.

Another way is to opt out of Windows updates all together. To do this, uncheck the option that says “Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows”, under Windows Update Advanced options.
